it's a dot ball as KJ drills the full delivery down the ground and Ishant stops. He then throws the ball high in the air to celebrate. 16 conceded by him in his last two overs
SRH vs Daredevils, 45th match at Raipur, IPL, May 09 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
11.30pm Kedar Jadhav did everything right initially, as Daredevils' top order didn't do all the right things in the beginning, and got the chase under control. But he lost his timing in the second half and Sunrisers' bowlers bowled very well, in the right areas with the right field to get the match back in their favour. Which means Delhi Daredevils have been knocked out as well...
JP Duminy: With three overs to go I thought we had a chance but Bhuvi bowled exceptionally and changed the game. They batted extremely well and ran between the wickets, kept us on our toes. 160 was definitely chaseable and we lost too many wickets upfront. Kedar batted exceptionally well but things didn't go our way. The pitch was slightly sticky at times.
David Warner: Good fight back from us after the first six overs. 150-160 was going to be par and a great innings Moises played there, great support from Karn and Bhuvi. We had to take early wickets and credit to de Kock's innings, he took us by surprise. Credit goes to Ishant for the way he came back after the game against Chennai. With two set batsmen, legspin would've come on the bat nicely in the end, I had given Karn a break initially. If a few decisions had gone our way initially the situation would have been different for us. Unfortunate for Steyn and Boult to miss out.
Man of the Match Henriques: Nice to get an extended run in the team which makes one feel more comfortable. Early on I was struggling a bit in the innings and was looking to take the innings deeper by batting more and more. Last game Morgs came off and this time it happened to me, so nice to see the team chipping in. I'm not as nervous now as I used to be, it's a game of cricket and I try to enjoy that. Bhuvi bowled very well in the end and that swung the game in our way.
That's all from us on this Saturday night. Join us on Sunday as well for the double-header as the league stage gets tighter and tighter to seal the playoff berths. Until then, good bye and good luck. This is Vishal D signing off, ciao!
Ravi: "Very poor captaincy from dumny... Daredevils deserve loss"
Nahush: "De Kock & Jadhav - 113 off 65 balls. Rest of DD - 40 off 55 balls."
Rakesh: "DD made a huge blunder in the tournament by giving too many chances to Mathews in place of Albie. Their first match strategy of playing Albie at No.3 was actually a good plan."
Chiranjeev: "I guess it was that single denied by JPD to QDK that changed the match in SRH's favor"
Teja: "Both teams were even except one has BK who can bowl yorkers at will." Where's the mark?
Warner joins Ishant for the field again - fine leg and third man in the circle. Long on and long off in the deep
full delivery now, doesn't time the slog on the leg side as it goes along the ground to deep midwicket
dropped at short fine leg, very tough chance though. Poor short delivery, KJ mistimes it again and it went to the right of PK. He put in a dive but couldn't hold on to it when he landed and one more run
there's a run-out chance - KJ mistimed the pull off the short ball as it landed near the circle at midwicket region. They come back for the second by the time the fielder from the deep comes in and he doesn't get a direct hit
Warner and Ishant decide the field - fine leg is on, backward square leg is deep
full on leg stump now, driven hard but straight to midwicket and they sneak in one
full and straight, Tiwary drills that hard and fast all along the ground, straight past Ishant who stands in the middle of the pitch to watch that go for four
16 runs. Six balls. Here's Ishant Sharma...
Werries: "Again DD not utilizing Albie Morkel"
inswinging low full toss hits his foot in front of leg stump, Bhuvi appeals but it's going down leg and they take a leg bye
full toss on the stumps, KJ mistimes the pull towards long on. Warner gets it, so only one
inswinging yorker on the pads, low full toss actually and he clips it to deep square leg. Tiwary ran for two from the beginning but KJ was happy with one
superb yorker under pressure on the off stump, he makes room and taps it to short third man
Rakesh: "It is funny how all are remembering Steyn and Boult when SRH are in danger. No one remembered them when SRH won the previous game!"
full toss deflects off the pad fine down leg, Ojha does great work to dive and keep it to two
short ball is slapped down towards long on with a top edge, Warner launches a flat throw so they can't think of a second
Only seven from that over, 22 from 12 now. Bhuvi for his last over now
120kph, slower delivery towards the leg side to chase KJ as he makes room, inside edge hits the body and then goes fine on off for one
low full toss on off is driven straight to extra cover
gets the yorker but doesn't get the direct hit! Tiwary blocked the ball on leg and ran a long way for the single, Ishant picked it up and had a shy at the keeper's end but missed as the batsman was way outside the crease
Sameer Dharur: "This is the result of benching Trent Boult - who was having a great tournament - for 3 games straight."
short ball angling away just outside off, Tiwary pulls and misses as it bounces over the bat
doesn't move much and merely tucks the incoming delivery towards midwicket by closing the face of the bat for one
comes down the track, pulls with a top edge and it goes right over the keeper for a lucky boundary
Ishant having a word with Bopara before his over...
wendywoo: "And this is exactly why Sunrisers need Dale Steyn!"
fullish outside off again, driven down to long off for one
slammed over point, four more! It was almost a half-volley outside off, he got some room too and went down on a knee to drive that square in the air for his fifty
