on a length and on middle and leg, punched down to long-on. Delhi Daredevils have some crumbs of comfort. First win for DD over CSK after seven straight defeats
CSK vs Daredevils, 49th match at Raipur, IPL, May 12 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Daredevils won by 6 wickets (with 20 balls remaining)
That's all she wrote for tonight. We will be looking forward to your company tomorrow. Goodbye and cheers...
Zaheer: I try to use my experience to my advantage. I used my variations, the wicket was slow and it worked. If I pick up something I know, the batsman's strength and I will have a discussion with the bowler and change the field accordingly. It will be good to finish on a winning note.
First Man-of-the-Match award in IPL for Zaheer. He knocks himself off the top of this un-awarded list
JP Duminy: It feels good. I was telling the guys, we have played good cricket this season. We have one more game to go. We will be coming back strong next season. That was the best Powerplay bowling performance I have seen. It was a gutsy performance from Shahbaz Nadeem. I still would have batted if I had won the toss. We bowled really well in the Powerplay and that set it up for us. Exciting talent [Iyer]. I have told him on his face that he will be playing for India in the next two-three years.
Dhoni: We got off to a horrible start. We got under 20 in the first six and from there it was difficult. We picked early wickets and dropped a catch. The bowlers offered width but we did not have enough runs on the board. We did not have practice sessions. They played a game here and knew what length to bowl. We have done well and try to take some positives if there are any. We have to be keep moving forward. We have to see how the wicket is in our last game. What's important is to finish one or two in the table. If we can't, maybe we will give a chance to Hussey before the playoffs.
11:00pm: Ishwar Pandey kept it tight upfront and reduced Daredevils to 24 for 2 in the chase. However, Yuvraj and Shreyas Iyer combined well in a 69-run stand to hold the innings together. Yuvraj then holed out for 32 but an uncluttered Iyer stayed till the end to see the 'hosts' past the finish line with his fourth fifty of the season. Chennai Super Kings are still on top but are not technically through to the playoffs yet...
patrib: "Iyer on the high for DD this season"
flighted outside off and spins away, Iyer is dragged forward and beaten. He loses his balance, Dhoni didn't collect the ball cleanly, fluffing a stumping opportunity
full and flat on off, he takes it from there and swings it away to the right of long-on. Beats the fielder
fullish and on off, nudged in front of square on the leg side
Jadhav..
Time out.
Iyer is the key here for Daredevils..
Morkel gives it away now. Fuller on a leg-stump line, he backs away, comes down and goes for a big hit. Only slices it off the bottom of the bat to Pandey at long-off
Morkel has mauled that! Length and outside off, he dances down the track and launches it over long-on
leg-stump line, turned through midwicket
squirted to the leg side off an inner edge
dragged shortish again, Iyer goes for the pull again, gets it over a leaping Faf. Then bisects deep midwicket and long-on
just evades Faf at short midwicket. Dropped short on middle, he goes deep in the crease and pulls it past the fielder
flatter and quicker, stays low, at the base of off, kept out
straight roller on middle, Morkel gets an inner edge onto the pad and negates the lbw appeal. Oh wait, that was pad first, but would have missed leg maybe
darted outside off, chopped hard into the ground behind point
veering onto the pads, nudged to the right of short midwicket
flatter and on middle, pushed to the covers for one
pushed through on middle and leg, blocked to mid-on
slider on off, Iyer backs away and cuts it to point
drifts on the pads, worked in front of square leg
full toss, bunted down to long-on
quicker and spins away, chopped to point
