Getkate finishes the game in style, powers the ball off the back foot and it flies over the long-on boundary and lands just in front of us
Leinster vs NW Warriors, 18th Match at Comber, PRO T20, Sep 19 2021 - Match Result
NW Warriors won by 8 wickets (with 37 balls remaining)
Lorcan Tucker has broken the record for playing the most T20s (25) for LEL, going past Simi Singh
Josh Little and Gavin Hoey's 53-run partnership is LEL's highest for the 9th wicket in T20s, breaking the record of 51 between McCarthy and Josh Little
The Warriors came out with a gameplan to be aggressive and that's exactly what they did. Porterfield lead from the front and anchored the Innings, letting the other's go for the big shots.
Every single one of the Warriors batters went at more than a run a ball, with Getkate coming in at the end to blast away.
The truth is that the Lightning never had enough runs on the board to set a challenging total. Early wickets would have certainly started some nerves in the Warrior's camp, not to be though.
The size of the victory showed the difference in quality between the two teams on display today. Winning with more then 6 overs to spare means that the Warriors also pick up an extra bonus point with the win.
Conor Olphert has just been named player of the match for his excellent spell of bowling.
For the North West Warriors, the win was all that matters and they deservedly finish the season as IP20 champions. Congratulations to them.
Well, as the season draws to a close. I just want to talk you for following along all season. It's been a pleasure to bring you all the action throughout the summer. I hope that you winter well, see you next year?
