wow, he has actually almost helicoptered it over the bowler's head for a four...
RCB vs Warriors, 46th match at Pune, IPL, May 02 2013 - Match Result
Robin Uthappa has broken the record for most sixes (29) in IPL for PWI, going past Yuvraj Singh's 27

So that's that from me for tonight, it's been a long day but an exciting one. I will be back tomorrow for the only match of the evening, with the Kolkata Knight Riders hosting the Rajasthan Royals in what should be an interesting match-up too. Buhbye from me and a have very good day/night ahead! Suneer Chowdhary signing off.

...but Bangalore has won their first game away from home and their seventh win in the tournament to make it to 14 points. Well-built batting, excellent finishing, fine bowling and but for a period of a few overs when Uthappa went hammer and tongs, Bangalore looked clearly the better side.
Lot of blame being attached to Ashok Dinda for his poor last over. He started off well tonight but wasn't able to finish it off, much like a lot of batsmen who lose form, he seems to be a tad off-colour this season, conceding far too many. More than anyone else, a break for a couple of games could help him clear his mind up.
-----------------
Devaraj: "Gayle-dashing opener and death bowler!!! how is that???!!!"
Pritpal Pabla: "Now pune are almost out in this year's IPL, I think they need to try their other players like Shrikant Wagh instead of Dinda, Harpreet Singh in place of Suman and Parvez Rasool in place of Nayar...."
Shuvam helps me out by putting this succinctly: "There were 3 turning points in this match: Mathews' 10 wides, Dinda's 26 run over and Robin Uthappa's dismissal."

Presentation quotes.
Finch: Knew we had to take advantage in the first six but we fought well towards the end, well played from Robin and Angelo. Happy to have fought but disappointed to lose again. Inconsistencies have been the story of the tournament for us, the good stuff hasn't come together for us.
Kohli: As I said earlier, looking at another game and not as an away game, got tight in the end but good to get the points on board. Team effort today, Tiwary told me at Jaipur he wanted to open and he did well.
AB de Villiers is the man of the match: It was a very enjoyable game for me tonight, gave me a lot of pleasure. I do try and read the bowler's mind, premeditate a tad, but need to keep the basics after that. Does not work always but it did tonight.
fuller on the middle stump and driven back to the bowler
goes to slam it over and that's gone to the bowler, who fields it off his bowling
fuller on his pads, hits it and rolls over to the leg side for a single
and gone, Gayle's got his first wicket, lbw and that's the end of the ninth, lbw trying to hoick it over the leg side
on his pads, keeps it up to the bat and flicked over the in-field to get him a single
24 off 6. Ironically it's Dinda on strike.
full-toss and he manages to tap it to the off side for a single
he was looking to slog it away again and can only get it on the bounce to mid-off, single for him
and this is as easy as you like, Kohli gets a catch, RP gets a wicket and Bangalore have almost got a win...short of length and he was looking to play it over long-off, not too much timing and it's gone straight to the fielder
short of length and he wants to pull it across the line, not too much timing and it spoons up to long-on for a single
tries to scoop it over the short fine-leg but it sneaks under his bat and through to the keeper
opens the face of the bat and pushes it to the off side for a single
slow turn away again, flicked away to the leg side for a single
and this time he's gone, an excellent innings comes to an end there. it was shorter in length and somehow it seemed stuck into the pitch, but of turn away from the bat and he was looking to play across the line, gets the outside edge and lobs up gently for RP to get the catch
and straight again, he was going down the pitch, seemed like he could get cramped by it but it's hit over the bowler's head for a four, well played
fuller outside the off stump and driven down the ground for a couple of runs, well-run that by the pair
full-toss and that's hit straight to long-on, tough catch made it look very easy! it was smacked hard, does not get it off the middle of the bat and de Villiers runs in and takes it low down, six down now
Can Nayar show his mettle?
looks to play it through short third-man but gets it to the fielder there, only a single there
Kartik's on.
slower one from the bowler, he's punched it straight to long-off for a single
clean as a whistle, it was on the middle, it was full and he's not swung it across as he has been doing all this innings, he goes straight and smack, six!
Krish: "@Max, Put yuvraj in as Captain, whole team would perform good, including Yuvi."
Prabhu: "@Max: I would say make Dinda captain, everyone would do well... Anyways Dinda is not performing so well"
