OMG! what a win for Warney's boys. What a piece of choke from Deccan. Sid Trivedi slips in a slower one outside off and Rohit goes for the big lofted hit over extra cover and is beaten by the lack of pace. He ends up slicing it to deep cover fielder. That Trivedi bowls mostly slower ones is known. Rohit should have been ready for it but the pressure has induced a fatal mistake from him.
RR vs Chargers, 36th match at Nagpur, IPL, Apr 05 2010 - Match Result
Gilchrist has broken the record for most sixes (3) in IPL, going past Yusuf Pathan's 0
Shane Warne has become the highest wicket-taker in IPL with 4 wickets, going past RP Singh's 44
VJ says: "DC = Deccan Chokers." Oh well!
Sid Trivedi: " I was tensed of course. Warne showed confidence in me and said just make them play. I was confident as the whole team had backed me up, saying 'you can do it Trivedi'. I just had to bowl it in the right areas. Warne would ask me what are you going to bowl this ball. I would tell him and he says ok or suggests any change if he feels. Always a good communication with the captain. "
Warne: "Sid is experienced. He has the slower ones and the bouncers. I just backed him. I am very very happy with the boys; we never gave up. That's the spirit of Rajasthan Royals."
Adam Gilchrist: "Great innings from Rohit, He kept us alive til the end. He did a great job. Rest of us need ... We were very desperate for win, there was a marked improvement in our cricket but obviously very frustrating. The top-order can take a bit of blame for it. I had my chances when I was there; i let it slip."
Man of the Match is Shane Keith Warne: "I t was one of those days when a few things went right for us. Our fielding and catching was superb, our intensity and all the bowlers did a great job. We have responded well as a group. Young Dole took a few wickets, Morne bowled a beautiful spell, Watson played a fine innings. A loss today would have really hurt us. It's important that you back your players. Sid Trivedi is a experienced player and we are very happy to have him back. What a superb over. This is the time to start peaking. We are going to get a lots of momentum from this win."
That's it from us. Good bye and good luck.
Choke choke choke! What drama! Harmeet is run out This game is on a knife edge and nerves jangling out there. ROhit swatted a low dipping full toss to square-leg and ran. Wide throw at the non-striker's end ... Rohit rushes for the second run ... Harmeet isn't ready! Surely you got to run kid. Rohit screams at Harmeet to get across and sacrifice his wicket. And Harmeet just about stirs and runs .. Did he cross? Was Rohit short? The third umpire reckons Harmeet has just about crossed Rohit. Harmeet out and Rohit is still out there.
What a catch by Morne! RP went for the big hit again and mistimed the slower one over mid-on. Morne rushed back and took a very good catch . the ball came from behind him, he stretched out his hands to hold on .. Rohit on strike now.
Almost bowled! Much fun. What a slog attempted! RP rushes down the track and has a ugly swipe. It was the slower one and it gently goes just over the middle stump!
high slow bouncer but sails high over the batsman. Wide. Warne doesn't like it, has a chat with the umpire. But it did go well high over RP
the slow bouncer, dragged down to deep square-leg. Warne brings his men up.
Warne has a chat with his bowler Sid Trivedi
short delivery this time, pulled to deep midwicket . slight fumble there .. Rohit sets out for the second run but RP says hold on you stay there and take strike next over
Is this is the shot that wins the game for Deccan? The game-breaker shot?. Full pitched delivery, straight and Rohit flays it right over the straight boundary. Warne screams in agony!
Big swing and a miss. It kicked up from short of length and straightened just outside off, ROhit went for the big swing and it missed the off stump
moves outside leg stump, exposes all his stumps, its a full delivery, RP goes for a slog and edges it to right of mid-on. Hmmm
picks a single with a dab to third man. Morne now gets to bowl at RP
Flat-batted forehand down the line .. ala Manish Pandey. IT was a short delivery outside off and Rohit flat bats it between the bowler and mid-off
Just a slip in. RP tries to jump down the track (why?!) and manages to get some bat on it .. the ball rolls to cover
flighted on leg and middle, slip and silly point in, scooped through midwicket
Shane Warne is doing all the damage here. What Harris was doing, we would never know. He came down the wicket and exposed his stumps. Warne rips across a flighted legbreak that lands outside leg and turns towards middle. Harris has a lame poke at it and misses it completely.. Done in the flight and then by the turn! Clatter! Warne has struck. Again. Whaddaplayaaaa
on the middle stump , slightly quicker, skidding on, pushed out to long-off
on the middle and off line, slightly short, cut to sweeper cover
Warne meanwhile threatens to do it all alone for his team. Flighted loopy slower leg break around off and middle, Azhar stretches forward and drives straight to extra cover! Warne pumps his fists as he roars! Rohit stands alone there.
What a over for Deccan. Splendid stuff from Rohit. Full pitched delivery outside off and he unfurls a fine square-drive
He picks the slower one and plays a neat pick-up shot over wide midwicket. Ala Carl Hooper.
