As it happened - India vs Namibia, Men's T20 World Cup, Super 12s

By Sidharth Monga

India win

Hugs all around for Ravi Shastri and Bharat Arun who end their stint with this straightforward win. KL Rahul sees them through with another half-century. India under Shastri end with two Test series win in Australia, a series lead in the yet-to-be-completed series in England, just one Test defeat at home, a 50-overs World Cup semi-final spot and runners-up trophy in the World Test Championship.
That is also the end of the league stages. On to the semi-finals now. England face New Zealand in the first one this Wednesday. Do join us for it.

Rohit dropped

In the first over, at short fine leg just after he is beaten on the outside edge to one pitched up mby left-arm quick, Trumpleman. The next one is short of a length, Rohit helps it on the way, but it hits the wrist of the diving fielder and goes for four. No wonder 45 is Rohit's lucky number

Perfect offbreak

That's what Ian Bishop called it on air. Slowed down torturously, drifting in, making the left-hand batter Zane Green play inside the line, and then holding its line against the angle to hit the top of middle stump. Ashwin ends up with figures of 4-0-20-3. Namibia 95 for 7 in 16 overs.

Bumrah strikes

Jasprit Bumrah has bowled a lot of yorkers with the new ball in this tournament. His first over here was almost solely made of attempted yorkers. In his second, he decided to test the pitch a little, and with a bouncer he has Michael van Lingen caught at mid-off. Namibia 33 for 1 in 4.4 overs.

Kohli wins toss, Chahar in for Varun

Virat Kohli has now won two tosses in a row. Imagine. Except that this doesn't matter that much now that they are out of the tournament. India will be chasing and have made one change, bringing in Rahul Chahar for Varun Chakravarthy.
Namibia have made one change themselves: Jan Frylinck in for Birkenstock.

Final league match

This rubber might be dead, but this report is live, ba-bayyy. Welcome to a low-key affair, there are a few self-writing jokes about net-run-rate equations, but here we don't go for the low-hanging fruit. There is still a lot to look forward to in this game: Namibia's disciplined attack against India's batting, India's bench players, and this being the last time Ravi Shastri coaches India and Virat Kohli captains them in a T20 international. Also a time to nod to India's run in ICC tournaments: this is the first time since 2012 - seven tournaments in between - that they have not made it to at least the semi-final. That's the longest such streak in ICC events.
