Ben Allison

A tall seamer who is more than handy with the bat, Ben Allison has been involved with Essex since he was 8 years old. His first-class debut came while on loan with Gloucestershire in 2019, and he made an impression in only his second Championship appearance for Essex, against Durham in 2021 - scoring 52 off 163 balls and helping to added 122 for the last three wickets as the home side bounced back to win after being dismissed for 96 in the first innings.

That same summer, he featured in eight out of 10 matches as Essex reached the semi-finals of the Royal London Cup. Injuries disrupted his progress in 2022 but he played a full part in the Vitality Blast campaign and produced two career-bests - 59 not out and a maiden five-wicket haul - against Northants in the final Championship game of the season.
