1st Twenty20 International, Auckland

New Zealand v West Indies, 2013-14

At Auckland, January 11, 2014 (floodlit). New Zealand won by 81 runs. Toss: New Zealand.
Twenty20 international debuts: K. O. A. Powell, C. A. K. Walton.
Brendon McCullum took out his frustration of seeing the one-day series slip away with an unbeaten 60 to set up a resounding victory. But it was Ronchi who played the decisive hand with 48 - in their stand of 85 in seven overs - after New Zealand had threatened to lose their way when Best struck twice in four balls during the 13th. Much to the crowd's disappointment he claimed Anderson second ball, caught at deep square, but the last three overs of the innings brought 46 runs to sway the match back towards New Zealand. West Indies never got going in the chase, losing Simmons in the second over when he edged the rapid Milne, who touched 95mph. Nathan McCullum made it a good day for the family with four wickets, all to catches in the deep by Guptill and Ryder.
Man of the Match: L. Ronchi.
