West Indies v Australia, 2011-12

At Bridgetown, Barbados, March 30, 2012. West Indies won by 14 runs. Toss: West Indies.

A West Indian total in excess of 200 looked possible when Dwayne Smith and Charles began with a partnership of 72 off 6.4 overs. Sammy tinkered with the order, promoting Pollard to No. 3 and himself to No. 5; though that particular tactic failed, West Indies still ended up with enough. Australia kept the target in sight, but Dwayne Bravo rightly identified the turning-point as his direct hit from midwicket in the 13th over to run out the threatening Warner. It typified West Indies' electrifying fielding. The pace of Edwards, Bravo's variations and the spin of Samuels did the rest.

Man of the Match: D. R. Smith. Man of the Series: S. R. Watson.
