The best pitch of the series, offering encouragement to both shot-making and lively bowling, contributed to the best match. India were on course for a large total at 189 for three in the 36th over, but Kohli was run out for 94 attempting a second, and Raina departed in the next over. In all, seven wickets fell for 62 and, although West Indies lost both openers cheaply, Sarwan reinjected momentum with 75 in a partnership of 103 with Bravo. They seemed to be leaving their sprint for victory too late but, once cramp forced Sarwan's retirement, Bravo came alive. After taking 78 balls to reach 50, he smashed 34 runs off his last 13 deliveries, a sequence that included five sixes; in all, he cleared the ropes six times in 99 balls. Samuels and Pollard did the rest, with Samuels celebrating the win by sprinting towards the crowd beyond the deep-point boundary to exchange high-fives with Chris Gayle, who had been prominent in the Eastern Stand throughout the game.
