In Bulawayo, Bangladesh cast aside the inconsistency and downright mediocrity which had characterised their tour to restore a modicum of pride. Although Taylor compiled his fourth one-day international hundred before throwing his wicket away with a weak chip to long-on - one of five to fall in the final powerplay - Chigumbura was the only other Zimbabwean to reach 20. Rubel Hossain bowled a tight, controlled line and the spinners made life difficult with varied flight and clever fields. Tamim Iqbal carved and sliced a rapid half-century; any concerns about a wobble at 129-4 were emphatically erased during an unbroken stand of 74 between Shuvagata Hom, in his second international, and Shakib Al Hasan, who had looked a cut above the rest of the squad throughout the tour.
