Third One-Day International

South Africa v Pakistan 2007-08

At Port Elizabeth, February 9, 2007 (day/night). No result. Toss: Pakistan.

Rain ruined a promising contest, bedevilling the later part of Pakistan's innings and then ending it with one ball unbowled; South Africa never replied. Their bowlers were intent on responding positively to the beating they had taken in Durban, and Ntini and Hall were effective, with seven wickets between them. But the runs came easily enough for Pakistan. Mohammad Yousuf scored another half-century, and put on 91 with Shoaib Malik, while Azhar Mahmood, in his first international for two years, scored a run a ball in the drizzle. A score of 245 looked competitive at this venue.

Attendance: 14,531.
