Pakistan were hardly stretched as their top order ushered them to a 3-1 series victory. West Indies' 238 was well short of a challenging total, despite Chanderpaul's fourth one-day century. They were reined in by Naved-ul-Hasan, who completed a prolific series with four high-quality wickets. He removed Gayle, for the fourth time in four matches, and then claimed the vital scalp of Lara, who had just become the fifth batsman (after Sachin Tendulkar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Sanath Jayasuriya and Sourav Ganguly) to score 10,000 runs in one-day internationals, and helped restrict West Indies to 57 off the last ten overs. An opening stand of 87 laid a winning foundation for Pakistan. Kamran Akmal sparkled with nine fours and a six, while Mohammad Hafeez, fresh from a Test hundred on this same ground two weeks earlier, just missed out on three figures again, falling with victory in sight. Inzamam and Mohammad Yousuf were back, but did not have to bat.
