Hong Kong's first senior game gave Bangladesh just their second win in 52 completed one-day internationals, spanning more than five years. However, the Bangladeshi batting looked worryingly shaky against such inexperienced opponents. The exception was Javed Omar, who constructed a steady 68 from 113 balls before being run out. The Hong Kong batsmen found life even trickier as Abdur Razzaq, a tight left-arm spinner, grabbed three for 17 on debut. Captained by the 43- year-old Rahul Sharma, they were hustled out for 105. (Sharma was the third-oldest player to make a one-day international debut, beaten only by 47-year-old Nolan Clarke of Holland and Norman Gifford of England, who was six days short of his 45th birthday.) Hong Kong's last wicket fell to Mohammad Rafique, who had unwittingly embarked upon an 11th over. The incident caused alarm at the ICC - terrified that something similar could occur in a close match - who reprimanded the umpires, saying both they and the third umpire should have been keeping count, and communicating. The umpires said the official scorers had lost track.
