Fourth One-Day International

Pakistan v South Africa

Brian Murgatroyd

At Rawalpindi, October 10, 2003 (day/night). South Africa won by six wickets. Toss: Pakistan.

South Africa took advantage of a Pakistan side at their insipid worst to level the series with one to play. Nel produced his best figures in one-day internationals to start the slide, although his success owed a great deal to poor strokes and, in Younis Khan's case, a brilliant diving leg-side catch by Boucher. Pakistan's problems were compounded by a hamstring injury to Yousuf Youhana, and they looked a shadow of the energetic side that had won the first two matches. Kallis, who faced 87 balls, expertly shepherded South Africa home.

Man of the Match: A. Nel
