Third One-Day International

Zimbabwe v Pakistan

At Harare, November 27, 2002. Pakistan won by 48 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe.

Heavy security operated for this match, in a dress rehearsal for the World Cup. Yet again, Pakistan enjoyed a run feast and Zimbabwe's batsmen fought back, but the tourists still won comfortably to secure the series. Despite a slightly improved attack, Salim Elahi scored his second successive hundred after another stand of 150-plus with Taufeeq Umar, while Yousuf Youhana hit the final ball for six to reach another century himself - though at 68 balls it was actually less spectacular than his previous outing. Vermeulen starred for Zimbabwe with 79 off 81 deliveries, and they had a faint chance while the Flowers were adding 105; but both fell to Saqlain Mushtaq, and their side had to settle for another defeat with honour.

Man of the Match: Yousuf Youhana.
