George Pinder

George Pinder, who had been in bad health for some little time, died on the 15th January, at Hickleton, in his sixty-second year. Inasmuch as he dropped out of first-class cricket more than twenty years ago, he was only a name to the present generation of players, but lovers of the game, whose recollections go back to the '70's, will remember him as one of the finest wicket-keepers we ever had. To very fast bowling he was perhaps the best of all, but in this connection something could be said for Tom Plumb.
