West Indies v Zimbabwe 1999-2000

At Kingston, April 2. West Indies won by 41 runs. Toss: West Indies.

A batting feast, led by Hinds's aggressive maiden century and augmented by his fellow Jamaican left-handers Adams and Gayle, swept West Indies to their third victory over Zimbabwe on this ground in six days. Adams helped Hinds add 95, but the acceleration really started after he was again run out: Hinds and Gayle then amassed 125 in 15 overs, including 100 in the last ten, to reach a formidable 280 for three. Gayle's career-best 58 took 45 deliveries and included five fours and a six; Hinds, dropped at 82 by Grant Flower, stroked 12 fours and a six in his 116 off 125 balls. Carlisle and Andy Flower batted enterprisingly for fifties, but wickets fell too regularly for Zimbabwe to mount a realistic challenge.

Man of the Match: W. W. Hinds.
