West Indies v Zimbabwe 1999-2000

At Kingston, April 1. West Indies won by 87 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe.

West Indies' vice-captain and captain made the difference between the teams. Campbell hit eight fours in a chanceless 103 off 130 balls, his maiden century in 71 one-day internationals, adding 141 with Adams, who struck just one four in 86 balls. Both were among four run-outs as West Indies went from 181 for two to 237 for nine in the last ten overs. Zimbabwe, docked two overs because of their slow over-rate, lost both openers cheaply, but Carlisle and Goodwin rebuilt the innings in an 86-run stand. When King bowled Carlisle off an inside edge, and Goodwin (52 off 57 balls) fell to Adams at the same score, the visitors collapsed, losing their last eight wickets for 34. Adams's economical left-arm spin earned three wickets.

Man of the Match: S. L. Campbell.
