Fifth One-day International

†INDIA v WEST INDIES 1987-88

At Faridabad, January 19. West Indies won by four wickets. Toss: India. India's highest score in the series to date, which included Amarnath's first hundred in a one-day international, put no strain on the West Indians. Amarnath's sturdy hundred included five fours and a six, but the only other worthwhile contribution to the Indian total was 45, off 44 balls, by Kapil Dev. Following a second-wicket stand of 108 between Simmons and Richardson, West Indies lost their way against an unlikely bowler in Srikkanth, but Logie and Hooper put them back on course.

Man of the Match: M. Amarnath.
