He playfully put on Waugh's helmet before approaching the trouble-makers. Play resumed after a five-minute halt.

Warne controlled the match equally effectively, and Waugh and Ponting coasted to victory in the 40th over. Each hit eight fours, with three of Ponting's coming off a single over from Headley. England's winning streak ended through both poor batting and fielding: Waugh was put down at slip first ball. McGrath took his 100th wicket in his 77th one-day international.
