Coca-Cola Champions Trophy 1998-99, fourth match

India v Sri Lanka

At Sharjah, November 9 (day/night). India won by 81 runs. Toss: Sri Lanka.

India sealed their place in the final, despite a feeble batting display. They were bundled out for 179, only Jadeja contributing significantly. But Sri Lanka's own top order collapsed like a house of cards against the spirited seam attack of Agarkar and Srinath. Agarkar, who batted India to victory in their previous game with Sri Lanka, claimed three wickets this time, and Srinath two, including his 200th in one-day internationals. There was no way back for Sri Lanka after tumbling to 21 for four in the eighth over; the spinners finished them off for a wretched 98.

Man of the Match: A. B. Agarkar.
