Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe

At Sharjah, November 7 (day/night). Zimbabwe won by seven wickets. Toss: Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka's troubles continued when the Flower brothers completed a comfortable win in the 47th over. But Zimbabwe had taken control from the start. Sri Lanka were put in and were soon 24 for three, thanks to a fine spell of swing and seam from Brandes. They never quite recovered, despite fifties from De Silva and Mahanama. In reply, Grant Flower played the perfect anchor role, batting throughout the innings for an unbeaten 87. Goodwin chipped in with his own half-century in a 90-run stand, and Flower stepped up a gear when joined by his brother Andy.

Man of the Match: E. A. Brandes.
