New Zealand v South Africa 1998-1999

At Auckland, March 27 (day/night). South Africa won by 143 runs. Toss: South Africa.

A blistering 145-run stand for the fourth wicket by Kallis and Cullinan ripped this match from New Zealand's grasp, and put South Africa one up with one to play. Returning to the ground where he had scored 275 not out, Cullinan shattered the New Zealand bowling, taking only 56 balls for his 94, with five fours and seven sixes. Kallis, meanwhile, compiled a more careful 125-ball 100. During the blitz, Allott did well to take four for 47, only to see his batsmen play limply.

Man of the Match: D. J. Cullinan.
