Fourth One-Day International

South Africa v West Indies 1998-99

At Port Elizabeth, January 30. South Africa won by 99 runs. Toss: West Indies.

South Africa recovered from 21 for two thanks to Gibbs, who hit the first one-day hundred for South Africa against West Indies. His stand of 162 with Cronje was a South African third-wicket record. West Indies again batted poorly and after 15 overs had struggled to 46 for two against good new-ball bowling. Hooper crashed 57 off 40 balls as they reached 152 for four off 31 overs, but they still fell well short of their target.

Man of the Match: H. H. Gibbs. Attendance: 16,332.
