Second One-Day International

Zimbabwe v India 1998-99

Toss: India. International debut: M. L. Nkala.

Although Zimbabwe batted better, they again failed to extend India. The home innings was based on a 125-run partnership between Campbell and Goodwin, but the middle order was unable to take advantage. Tendulkar was superbly caught at backward point off Mluleki Nkala. It was the second delivery Nkala, a 17-year-old Falcon College schoolboy, had bowled in international cricket. Then a second-wicket partnership of 153, between Ganguly and Azharuddin, took the tourists within sight of victory.

Man of the Match: S. C. Ganguly.
