WEST INDIES v AUSTRALIA 1990-91

At Bridgetown, Barbados, March 13. Australia won by 37 runs. Toss: Australia. Batting first for the fourth successive time, the Australians took advantage of an exceptionally true pitch, and West Indies' tactic of choosing only three specialist bowlers, to amass their highest total in their 57 one-day internationals against West Indies. Two partnerships involving Marsh built Australia's innings after Mark Taylor and Jones were out cheaply. He added 146 in 25 overs with Border, and 87 in twelve with Mark Waugh, hitting three sixes and eight fours in his 113 off 140 balls, his eighth century in this form of the game. The Australians took 37 off Marshall's last three overs and in all hit seven sixes and nineteen fours. West Indian wickets fell steadily as the Australians fielded and caught brilliantly, and with Australia securing the series 3-1, with a game to play, West Indies incurred their first loss in a one-day rubber at home.
