WEST INDIES v AUSTRALIA 1990-91

Toss: Australia.

Marsh, who had eight fours in 81 off 118 balls, provided the foundation to the Australian innings, with Jones, whose 36 off 49 balls contained a six and four fours, helping him add 69 in fifteen overs for the second wicket. Steve Waugh and Healy were responsible for 54 coming off the last six overs, Healy's unbeaten 33 being made from only 23 balls.

The reduction of their target was to West Indies' advantage, and Richardson, first with Haynes and then with Greenidge, kept them on course. When he skied a pull to square leg, having hit fourteen fours in 90 off 94 balls, West Indies needed 49 off 7.5 overs. Amidst scenes of great excitement in a crowd of almost 20,000, Logie, hitting five fours in an unbeaten 24 off 21 balls, propelled them to victory.

Man of the Match: R. B. Richardson.
