WEST INDIES v AUSTRALIA 1990-91

Toss: West Indies.

After the match had been reduced to 42 overs an innings by rain, Jones assured Australia of a challenging total from the 34 overs that the West Indians bowled, hitting nine fours in the 85 balls faced for his 64. Gray's six wickets, which earned him the Man of the Match award, included Border first ball, but he was also expensive. Haynes led West Indies' effort with seven fours in 45 off 62 balls, but Australia, supporting steady bowling with flawless fielding, never let the situation get out of control. Once Richards was caught at deep mid-wicket, trying for a second six off Whitney, the last four wickets added just 15.

Man of the Match: A. H. Gray.
