Australasia Cup 1990, second match

AUSTRALIA v NEW ZEALAND

Toss: New Zealand.

Australia, 115 for three when they lost Mark Taylor in the 27th over, built on this good start to set New Zealand a target in excess of 5 an over. Boon and Waugh added 81 for the fourth wicket, and Boon and Border put on 51 off 47 balls for the fifth. New Zealand, 26 for two in the tenth over, partially recovered as Crowe and Greatbatch put on 65 in seventeen overs, but when Border cut through their middle order with a spell of three for 1 in fourteen balls, an Australian victory never looked in doubt.

Man of the Match: D. C. Boon.
