†PAKISTAN v WEST INDIES 1989-90

At Jullundur, October 25. West Indies won by six wickets. Toss: Pakistan. With Pakistan's top-order batsmen unable to get the better of controlled West Indies bowling, it was the 34th over before their score moved into three figures. Aamer Malik, who had joined the team only the previous day as a replacement for the injured Salim Yousuf, batted responsibly for his 77, and at the end Salim Malik and Imran added 59 in seven overs. When Wasim Akram removed Haynes and Simmons, West Indies were under some pressure. Richardson and Dujon relieved it with a partnership of 94 in 140 balls, and Richards saw his side to victory with an unbeaten 47.

Man of the Match: R. B. Richardson.
