One-day International

WEST INDIES v ENGLAND 1989-90

At Georgetown, Guyana, March 15. West Indies won by seven wickets. Toss: West Indies. Played on the scheduled final day of the Test match, this game was approached in a desultory fashion by both teams. England batted as if uncertain whether they should be taking Test match practice or trying to make a winning total; as a result, they achieved neither. Greenidge's 77, aided by 48 from the Guyanese opener, Lambert, playing in his first international, ensured that the outcome was never in doubt. Although it was not part of the one-day series, the match was given the status of an unofficial one-day international.

Man of the Match: C. G. Greenidge.
