†AUSTRALIA v NEW ZEALAND 1985-86

Rain, soon after New Zealand, who were put in, began to bat, prevented much play in the afternoon and reduced the match to 31 overs a side, which Australia's slow over-rate further cut to 29 overs. Crowe struck a memorable 71 from 58 balls, and a total of 161 for seven favoured a New Zealand win. However, the rain returned and did not allow Australia even fifteen overs in which to achieve a target of 84.

Attendance: 39,000.
