Second One-day International

†PAKISTAN v INDIA 1982-83

At Multan, December 17. Pakistan won by 37 runs. After Pakistan had won the toss, magnificent centuries by Zaheer and Mohsin helped them to a two-nil lead in the one-day series. They shared a stand of 205 in 27 overs, equalling the the record for any wicket in one-day internationals, set by D. L. Haynes and I. V. A. Richards for West Indies v Australia in Melbourne, 1979-80. Despite Patil's 84 and his fourth-wicket partnership of 109 with Vengsarkar, India's reply, though spirited, was inadequate.
