†NEW ZEALAND v ENGLAND 1982-83

At Wellington, February 23. New Zealand won by 103 runs. By beating England for a second time running, even more convincingly than in Auckland, New Zealand made sure of winning the trophy provided by the Rothmans Foundation. Having been put in, New Zealand were given a fine start by Turner and Edgar, with a partnership of 152 in 29 overs. Turner was in prime form, scoring 94 in 94 balls. England, in reply, were never in the hunt, their first five wickets falling for only 83 runs. A very good return catch by Chatfield accounted for Gower. In defeat, Willis described his side's performance as dismal.

Man of the Match: G. M. Turner. Attendance: 15,000.
