†PAKISTAN v WEST INDIES 1980-81

At Lahore, December 19. West Indies won by 7 runs to take the series 3-0. Pakistan, fielding a young and inexperienced side, put West Indies in on a bare pitch. In the absence of Sikander Bakht, who retired after one over, pace bowlers Rashid Khan and Tahir Naqqash gave impressive performances. In one over Rashid removed both Haynes and Richards and, at 10 for two, West Indies looked to be in trouble. They made only 20 runs in the first eleven overs, and after 30 overs had reached just 98. However, the last ten overs realised 72 runs, Clarke"s whirlwind 20 including three 6s. Pakistan made a steady start but were never in the chase. After Man of the Match Clarke had removed both Javed Miandad and Zaheer Abbas, Wasim Raja and Majid Khan tried to hit out, but the tight West Indian fielding gave nothing away and they fell 8 runs short of victory.
