ENGLAND v WEST INDIES 1979-80

At Adelaide, January 16. West Indies won by 107 runs. England suffered another crushing defeat from the side they were to meet in the final. Good batting, led by Richards, Greenidge and Kallicharran, carried West Indies to a formidable 246 for five in ideal conditions before a capacity Adelaide crowd. With the first limited-overs final only four days away England displayed their worst batting of the competition, submitting meekly against Roberts, who became the first bowler to take five wickets in an innings in the tournament.
