Wisden
2nd ODI, Napier

New Zealand v Australia

At Napier, February 2, 2017 (day/night). Abandoned.
After the region's driest January on record, the drought broke on the morning of the game. The weather cleared before 2pm, but appalling drainage prevented play. It was Napier's second successive one-day international abandonment, and an inquiry began next day, led by the local council, who own the ground, and New Zealand Cricket. Within a fortnight, the ODI against South Africa scheduled for March 1 was moved to Hamilton to avoid the risk of a repeat.
