Cricket Australia XI v South Africans

At Adelaide, October 22-23, 2016 (day/night). Drawn. ‡South Africans 415 (89.5 overs) (H. M. Amla 51, J-P. Duminy 97, Q. de Kock 122) and 181-5 (44 overs) (R. R. Rossouw 77); Cricket Australia XI 103 (30.4 overs) (M. W. Short 57).
The South Africans chose from 16 players in this pink-ball warm-up, and the local team from 12. The tourists dominated, scoring at 4.6 an over on the first day, then skittling their inexperienced opponents on the second. J-P. Duminy just missed a century, but Quinton de Kock sprinted to 122 from 103 balls before retiring. He did not keep wicket next day: Harry Nielsen, the 21-year-old son of former Australian coach Tim, stood in and took four catches as the CA XI plummeted to 39-7. Matthew Short, the captain, saved some embarrassment - but no one else reached double figures as all five bowlers used took two wickets apiece.
