Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 2015-16

Fifth one-day international At Bulawayo, October 24, 2015. Afghanistan won by 73 runs. Afghanistan 245-9 (50 overs) (Noor Ali Zadran 54, Mohammad Nabi 53, Asghar Stanikzai 38; W. P. Masakadza 3-31, Sikandar Raza 3-40); ‡Zimbabwe 172 (44.1 overs) (S. C. Williams 102; Dawlat Zadran 4-22, Hamza Hotak 3-41). MoM: S. C. Williams and Dawlat Zadran. MoS: Mohammad Nabi.
A big crowd turned out for the final match, with vuvuzelas and flags lending it a charged atmosphere. Afghanistan appeared the more inspired, calmly defending 245 to secure their historic win, the first by an Associate team in a bilateral series against a Test-playing nation. Noor Ali's third fifty of the series was the adhesive for Afghanistan's top order; he added 97 for the second wicket with Nabi, and two huge sixes from Mirwais Ashraf helped boost the total from 202-7. Dawlat again made two early incisions, and Zimbabwe were soon 51-5; Williams was left to play a lone hand, sweeping, dabbing and swiping to a maiden century in his 95th ODI. But the next-highest was Jongwe's 16 and, when Williams was finally stumped off Rashid, Afghanistan's players celebrated their triumph in style.
