3rd ODI, Harare

India v Zimbabwe, 2015

India won by 83 runs. India 276-5 (50 overs) (R. V. Uthappa 31, M. K. Pandey 71, K. M. Jadhav 105*); ‡Zimbabwe 193 (42.4 overs) (C. J. Chibhabha 82; S. T. R. Binny 3-55). MoM: K. M. Jadhav. MoS: A. T. Rayudu (India). ODI debut: M. K. Pandey.
Timid captaincy and a woeful dropped catch by Chigumbura let India off the hook. With the tourists 82-4 in the 22nd over, Chigumbura allowed medium-pacers Hamilton Masakadza and Prosper Utseya (no longer bowling off-breaks after his action was ruled illegal) to complete their ten-over allocations, giving Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav time to settle. When leg-spinner Cremer was eventually introduced, Chigumbura put down Jadhav at backward point; he added 63 from his last 30 balls, finishing with a maiden century in his fourth ODI. Their assault left Zimbabwe shellshocked: Chibhabha made another fifty but, with the required rate climbing and his team-mates abandoning him, he was caught in the deep with more than 100 still needed. "Please bear with us," pleaded Dav Whatmore, after his tenth defeat in 11 completed ODIs since taking over as Zimbabwe's coach before the World Cup.
