Dec 13: Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Renegades, Hobart

Pro Tip: This will be the fourth game in as many days at Bellerive Oval, so the team batting first is expected to have a big advantage.
Our XI: Rilee Rossouw, Benny Howell, Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson, Josh Philippe, Jack Edwards, James Vince, Dan Christian, Ben Dwarshius, Jordan Silk
Substitutes: Sam Harper, Beau Webster, Carlos Brathwaite, Daniel Hughes
Player availability: Both the teams are likely to go field the same XIs as in the previous game. We might not always be able to tip you off about late injury (or other relevant) updates, so please finalise your team after the toss.
Captain: Shaun Marsh
The move from Scorchers to Renegades in the last season worked wonders for Marsh, as he was the top scorer for Renegades, scoring 449 runs in 12 games at an average of 37.41. He has good numbers against Sixers too, with 228 runs in six innings at an average of 45.60.
Vice-captain: Josh Philippe
Philippe was the third-highest run-scorer in BBL 09 with 487 runs in 16 innings. He was also named the Player of the Match in the BBL 09 final for his 29-ball 52.
Hot Picks
Aaron Finch: Finch is Australia's top-ranked T20I batsman, and had a terrific BBL 09 too, scoring 363 runs in nine games at an average of 45.38 and a strike rate of 139.08. Finch's numbers at Bellerive Oval are also outstanding: 323 runs in eight games at an average of 40.37 and a strike rate of 146.81.
James Vince: Vince started the season with a terrific 41-ball 67. He was also the second-highest scorer for Sixers in BBL 09 with 323 runs in 15 innings.
Kane Richardson: Richardson is the third-highest wicket-taker in the BBL with 83 strikes in 67 games at an average of 23.14. He has a couple of four-wicket hauls in BBL 09 too. He was especially good against left-handers in BBL 09, giving away 67 runs in 67 balls and picking up three wickets.
Differential Picks
Jack Edwards: Edwards recorded his highest T20 score of 47 in this season's opener against Hurricanes. He has been among the runs right from the trial games ahead of this season, with a 42-ball 61 and a 47-ball 60. His good form has made him the first-choice opener ahead of his skipper Daniel Hughes.
Dan Christian: Christian had a mediocre BBL 09, scoring only 128 runs and picking up five wickets in 14 games. Later, in the T20 Blast, he picked up his form, scoring 173 runs at a strike rate of 144.17 and picking up nine wickets in 11 games. He started this BBL with a bang, picking up three wickets against Hurricanes.
Alternate Scenarios
  • Since Jordan Silk bats lower in the order, he can be replaced by Beau Webster or Sam Harper, whoever bats higher up , as a safe choice.
