Jan 5: Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers, Adelaide

Pro Tip: The Renegades' have been the poorest team on show, with a batting average of 16.16 and bowling average of 33.20. Keep the number of Renegades players in your XI to a minimum.
Our XI: Aaron Finch, Mohammad Nabi, Jack Prestwidge, Kane Richardson, Peter Hatzoglou, Alex Carey, Jonathan Wells, Jake Weatherald, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Wes Agar
Substitutes: Sam Harper, Danny Briggs, Phil Salt, Daniel Worrall
Player availability: Shaun Marsh and Rilee Rossouw are not available for this game. We might not always be able to tip you off about late injury (or other relevant) updates, so please finalise your team after the toss.
Captain: Alex Carey
Strikers' leading scorer in BB L10 with 192 runs in five innings, Carey averages a staggering 37.22 at Adelaide Oval, having scored 670 runs in 19 innings. He has also effected seven dismissals behind the stumps, joint most in this BBL.
Vice-captain: Rashid Khan
Against a team that has had three collapses in seven games (scores of 60, 80 and 89), Khan is expected to run riot. He is the joint-leading wicket-taker in this edition with 11 wickets at an average of 17.63.
Hot Picks
Kane Richardson: Easily the best bowler for the Renegades this season, Richardson has picked up nine wickets in seven games, and has more wickets at Adelaide Oval than at any other BBL venue - 23 wickets in 20 games.
Mohammad Nabi: He had a horror match the last time out, but the No. 1-ranked T20I allrounder did score an important 33 (24 balls) in the game against the Sydney Thunder, and picked up a couple of wickets in the match against the Sydney Sixers. Too early to count him out.
Jake Weatherald: One of the prolific scorers in the league, Weatherald hasn't been as prolific as some might have expected him to be, but has had a couple of good outings with the bat, including in the last game, when he scored 34* in 24 balls. He is the top run-scorer at this venue - 797 runs in 27 innings.
Differential Picks
Jonathan Wells: Wells had had a below-par season until the last game, when he scored 66 in 56 balls against the Sydney Sixers attack. Since BBL 08, he has an average of 59.30 in middle overs and promoting him again in the batting order will help.
Wes Agar: Agar is the joint-leading wicket-taker in BBL 10 with 11 wickets in seven games at an average of 19.27.
Alternate Scenarios
  • Sam Harper might be an option to replace Jack Prestwidge.
