D'Arcy Short has been the top run-scorer for Hobart Hurricanes in every season he played. He has also been the overall top run-scorer in BBL 07 and BBL 08 seasons. He has not got out below the 30s against Sydney Sixers, accumulating 250 runs in five innings at a strike-rate of 144.51. Earlier this year, he has also got a five-wicket haul at this venue against Sydney Thunder.

Josh Philippe was the third highest run-scorer in BBL 09 with 487 runs in 16 innings. He recorded his highest score of 86* in the BBL against Hobart Hurricanes. He was also named the Player of the Match in the victorious BBL 09 final for his 29-ball 52. After his stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020, he is only expected to get better.

Riley Meredith: The 24-year old speedster Riley Meredith was in Australia's squad for the limited-overs tour to England in September but unfortunately did not get a game. He has been a genuine wicket taker for Hobart Hurricanes in the past picking up 27 wickets in 21 games. He picked up ten wickets in six games in BBL 09.

Ben Dwarshuis: Ben Dwarshuis has been the second most prolific left-arm pacer (after Daniel Sams) and seventh overall prolific bowler in BBL over the last 2 seasons. He has picked up 32 wickets in 31 games in that duration. He even got an opportunity in IPL with KXIP during the 2018 season, after they were impressed with his death bowling skills.

James Vince: He was the second highest run scorer for Sydney Sixers in BBL 09 with 323 runs in 15 innings. Retaining him for the third straight year shows the importance of James Vince for Sixers. He has good record against Hobart Hurricanes scoring 137 runs in four innings at an average of 45.67 and a strike rate of 142.71.

Will Jacks: Will Jacks might be the next overseas gem in BBL after the likes of Jofra Archer and Harris Rauf. This 21-year old English all-rounder grabbed headlines after his 25-ball hundred in a T10 game in Dubai - the unofficial record for the fastest century in a professional match. He was also named as the MVP in Vitality Blast 2020 for his 309 runs and 13 wickets in 13 games.

Colin Ingram: The 35-year old T20 specialist Ingram has done decently well for Melbourne Stars when he represented them in the BBL, scoring 610 runs in 25 games at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 138.95. With the absence of some key players in Hurricanes, Ingram is likely to bat up the order and deliver.
