At Dubai, November 1, 2013 (day/night). Pakistan won by 66 runs. Toss: Pakistan.
Morkel, McLaren and Imran Tahir did well to confine Pakistan to an innings of fits and starts, after South Africa had lost an important toss. But the surface was bound to turn more as the day wore on and South Africa were reminded of their recent struggles in Sri Lanka. Ingram's run of three successive ducks would have been four had it not been for the donation of four overthrows from Shahid Afridi. Smith and Duminy rebuilt without too much alarm, but it did not take long for the spinners to pull the rug from beneath them: they swept up six for 66 from 23.4 overs. McLaren and Parnell fought as hard as they could, but another top-order failure had left them with too steep a mountain to climb.
Man of the Match: Shahid Afridi.
