The 157th edition of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack celebrates England men's achievement in winning the World Cup for the first time in their history, after a final for the ages against New Zealand at Lord's. The player of the match on that day, Ben Stokes, is named as the leading cricketer in the world, having also sealed England's remarkable one-wicket victory over Australia in the Headingley Test. "Against red ball or white, he was a force of nature," writes the editor, Lawrence Booth. Ellyse Perry is named as the leading woman cricketer for the second time, and is also honoured as one of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Year, alongside Jofra Archer, Pat Cummins, Simon Harmer and Marnus Labuschagne. This year's almanack runs to 1536 pages and contains a special 80-page World Cup section, as well as 56 pages of obituaries, including those for two greats of the game, Bob Willis and Abdul Qadir.
