Geof Bycott should look after his own house which is burning to ashes!! You humbug, big nose, having no ideas about real stats and performance of Bangladesh team in recent years. who cares you take notice or not!! beating england in world cup you watched was a tiny example which you think is the best. Bangladesh have whitewashed Kiwis and what Kiwis have done to your team in your home ground?? shameless creature cant look into its own instead undermine others. We dont need your assessment and you are nobody. get real!!
Boycott is right. Bangladesh needs to prove its skill abroad against India, pakistan and other teams. But thing is that in their last tour in Banglades, it was practically A team, that whitwashed Bangladesh. In last 16 years Bangladesh failed to defeat Pakistan for a single match even in their homeground. Now they defeated India and whitewashed Pakistan. Don't you see any change in that? I hink Mr. Boycott will agree with me that Bangladesh don't need to prove anything against England because they already defeated England abroad.
@Stratocaster , allow Bangladesh to play more cricket and come after two years. According to you, Boycs was the unparralel. See below: Boycs Span Mat Runs HS Bat Av 100 1964-1982 108 8114 246* 47.72 22 Cared to hear about Bangladesh's Mominul? Here are his stats: Mominul Span Mat Runs HS Bat Av 100 2013-2015 15 1410 181 58.75 4 See it yourself. And many are in the pipeline to thumb the nose of humbugs!
What Mr. Boycott is really saying is that Bangladesh should first win the world cup at least once before it's called a top side. I am not sure if Mr. Boycott understands that beating India and Pakistan in Bangladesh is much harder than beating England, West Indies and even New Zealand in Bangladesh. I don't think there is any country who can win a series against Australia in Australia at this time. However, I do agree that beating top ranked teams in their own countries is the next step.
@NP_NY: "a very tired team"??? Is that the new excuse for BD haters who are again trying to undermine them? Then, I must say that's a very lame one. In this era, cricketers should be used to busy schedule. The small breaks they get between the tours should be enough to revitalize them. Quite funny, as the Indians never mentioned "tiredness" as a factor in that series loss. They credited Bangladesh as the DESERVED winners. Anyways, what Mr. Geoffrey said makes sense in some ways. But, as long as the bigger nations don't invite BD to play there, what are BD supposed to do?? And the ICC that helped us financially aren't doing much to organize abroad tours. BTW, As far as abusing your loyal fan is concerned, a lot of Bangladeshis have said sorry. When it comes to abusing however, the Indians aren't far behind either. A lot of Indians abused the Bangladeshi supporters after the wc quarterfinals in Melbourne. Guess we're not the only ones who should feel ashamed, are we? :/
Firstly, congratulations on the 10-1 finish at home...the logic that bangla cricket is unproven outside bangladesh is not incorrect but should not be the sole criteria for judging the team. It was painful to watch my beloved team lose 2-1 but the better team won that series. Without getting emotional boycott is kind of right, you have to win in "unfamiliar" conditions to really be noticed whether that is England or Australia or South Africa or New Zealand . Their first opportunity to continue their winning trend is going to at home against a very good SA team and then the t20 WC in India. Yes barring Australia and South Africa in the current crop no other team has a decent track record in south Asian conditions that are unfamiliar to them but if you want to be the best and be noticed then you gotta not only compete but beat those teams in their own backyard and for this reason alone i will agree with Boycott
As a Bangladeshi I agree with Geoffrey Boycott here. I do not find the reason for all these excitements. Defeating teams like India and Pakistan is something we have been doing for ages now. India although a good team, possess no challenge for the current Bangladesh team. Bangladesh should go for bigger challenges like defeating big fishes like Australia and South African teams in their home grounds in test matches.
can Boycott arrange some away tour for bangladesh, so Bangladesh can win some matches and prove him wrong. anyway, world cup 2015 was away from bangladesh. bangladesh performed really well. main thing is they are performing well consistently.
Pretty sure he does not watch how Bangladesh performed on the field and judged on the basis of statistics and pessimism.
