I propose that the West Indies Board organize domestic T20/ODI/Test Preliminaries among three teams comprising of the best three squads that the West Indies have to offer. You could use the recent tri-series format and choose ONLY the best performers to play for the West Indies for the ensuing year. They can use a quiet period in the annual calendar for that purpose. Such a proposition would make more sense to West Indies Cricket than the CPL, we already have an IPL. In addition, when guys are selected for the West Indies final squads they should be compensated on the basis of their performance in the various matches. Each player should be given a reasonable target of performance given the conditions and situation of the said match. Your pay would be based on how well you delivered on those targets. If you delivered 50% then you get 50% of your match fee, after fines have been deducted.
lok here until such time the people who is running w i cricket start to select people who is prepare to represent the w/i the way others players on other teams does we have nowhere to go as a cricket team where is the discipline amongs this team players none whatsever but they r still getting to play for the w/i u have so many of them who cannot play for no other team other than the w/i sometimes it makes wonder if these players have any intelligence at all u combine the amount of matches they have played and to see how they performed as against other players in other teams it is time we ask ourself what is the purpose of still playing them at all they r an embarassment to the entire west indies nations the have no pride at all in themselves because they know that they will be paid at the end of the day shine 1 r 2 innings and fail for the rest of the series and it is ok to my mind the only player in that team that gives 100 percent is darren sammy the rest just dont care if we l
But Retour the ODI has turned into T20 games because of rain.
There is nothing really wrong with the Top 5 of the West Indian Batting lineup, but the problem lies within the lower order. As good as Sammy/Pollard/Dwayne Bravo may be in T20, ODI cricket is a different breed and these players are not consistent. Thats why West Indies does well when a top order batsman does good (Gayle/Charles/Bravo), but when those 3 fail, the consistency is gone. Would love to see Chanderpaul back in the side
IMO, one issue with WI in ODIs is that it is playing too many T20 type of players in the 11. I am a fan of Pollard but it is hard for me to see him in the ODI line up unless he can bowl 7-8 overs consistently as he is very inconsistent with his batting. WI needs to pick 2 out of Bravo Sr, Sammy and Pollard. And give the open position to either a specialist batsman or bowler depending up on playing conditions.
