Dear Harsha/Sanjay/Chap.. you touched almost all the teams who came to knockout.. but forgot to mention newzeland.. it would have been nice if there are ffew words for newzeland too.. overall it was good.

There were mainly three weaknesses for Indian cricket right from the dat India started playing the game-1.Fast bowling 2.Lack of all-rounders 3.Fielding.It is good that we are improving on our fielding. But fast bowling and producing all-rounders is still something we are lacking in.It is high time that we filtered the fast bowlers and give the best opportunity to the most deserving one which would in deed help in raising the bar and would see an improvement in quality, something similar to what Australia did.The Indian cap should me made difficult to get. That is what Australia did. Most of the debutants were aged 25+.They had enough of first class experience and were good enough to stay for a long while at international level and they turned out to be great stars.Something similar needs to be implemented soon.

spot on captain cool.....the best captain India has ever produced ....

M on April 6, 2011, 9:34 GMT

Writing about Sourav Ganguly - probably the most ill-treated cricketer in the history of cricket, Arjuna Ranatunga once said Indians do not know how to respect their real heroes. Unfortunately that's the bare truth! Now after winning the WC all the media beating drums for Sachin and Dhoni in their headlines and conveniently sidelined the real-performer Yuvi!!

he always has been an influential leader........

Vikram on April 6, 2011, 5:32 GMT

On the South African fiasco, my personal opinion is this: When you have very good bowlers, play only 4 of them. I personally feel that when you play five of them, the captain sends a message to each one of them that he does not trust them to finish the job for him. Especially when considering the fact that each of their opponents played 3-4 bowlers. To play Steyn/Morkel/Botha/Peterson/Tahir versus say India's Zaheer/Munaf/Nehra/Harbhajan, the South African class was so superior, yet the sum of the parts was lesser.

Vikram on April 6, 2011, 5:27 GMT

I would love to see cricketers in a televised match, and not cine stars/politicians. You know, I tuned into ESPN/Star Cricket, not Star Gold or DD Parliament. I would love to see the reaction of Anil Kumble when Dhoni hit the winning runs, not Aamir Khan/Preity Zinta/Sonia Gandhi. Also, I would really like you cricket experts begin talking about post-World Cup Sachin's future. How should he phase himself out so that his replacement gets enough exposure to be ready for WC 2015. Would he have to be nudged out like Kapil Dev? Or, would he sign off like Saurav Ganguly not letting his emotions get the better of him?
