1908

The editor was excited at a proposal that England, Australia and South Africa might play a triangular series in 1909 (it was not to happen until 1912) but was less happy that England's players would miss up to six weeks of Championship cricket during the summer. Looking back rather than ahead, it was the South Africans' bowling, which attracted the most attention, despite wretched weather which dogged their tour.
